2009 Adult Award Criteria and Nomination Process

Loudoun Interfaith BRIDGES is seeking to honor a citizen of Loudoun who has put forth exemplary effort to promote peace and understanding among diverse faiths. This citizen is to be honored at the Interfaith Day of Thanks on Sunday, November 8, 2009.

The criteria and nomination process are as follows:

Nomination Criteria

Be a resident of Loudoun County who is 18 years or older.

This candidate should

demonstrate the ability to bring together communities of different faiths;
address interfaith challenges in Loudoun County;
encourage understanding and respect between diverse religious and ethnic cultures.

This candidate may demonstrate these concepts by way of

Initiating or leading an event or activity that promotes interfaith dialogue and education;
And/or organizing diverse faith communities to specifically addressing interfaith issues in Loudoun County;
And/or exemplifying a life that is committed to interfaith issues.

Nomination Process

Nominations may be submitted by a citizen of Loudoun County
Fill out nomination form (download PDF)
Include at least two references per nominee
Submit nomination form no later than September 24, 2009

All Nominations will be reviewed by the Events Committee of Interfaith BRIDGES. This Committee will select up to five finalists whose applications will be presented to the BRIDGES at-large at the October 1 monthly meeting. At that time, the members will select the award winner. The winner will be notified by October 15. The winner should be available to attend the Day of Thanks Dinner on Sunday, November 8, 2009 to be recognized and receive the award.
